Through co-design and participatory action research we aim to establish which aspects of walking impact the participation in life activities of persons with multiple sclerosis and co-design walking outcomes that reflect the priorities of persons with multiple sclerosis.
You will be asked to take photos of contexts where your walking impairment has impacted your ability to participate in life activities, 7 of which will be submitted to our research team. You will then be asked to attend an interview via teleconferencing where you will be asked to explain what part of each photo impacted your ability to participate in life activities. For those who can attend, this will be followed by an in-person workshop at Murdoch University, Perth, WA, to identify reoccurring themes among photos and co-design walking measures that important to people with MS.
We aim to understand:
If you do not have access to a smartphone or camera for the photo taking section of this study, you will be provided with one.
Not meeting the above inclusion criteria or having another clinical condition impairing cognition or physical function.
